Using stories to showcase successful examples of foreign direct investment (FDI)

Foreign direct investment (FDI) stimulates trade, increases competitiveness and brings new ideas, knowledge and technologies to a country. Given these advantages, it’s no wonder countries go out of their way to promote FDI.

In Europe, the UK has consistently been recognized as one of the most attractive markets for FDI.  UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) offers services, expertise and advice to UK-based companies that want to succeed in the global economy as well as to overseas companies that want to bring their high-quality investment to the UK.

In particular the Netherlands is a key commercial partner for the UK. In 2012 the British Embassy in the Netherlands honored the achievements of Dutch companies that had successfully located and expanded in the UK.  I was asked to write a case study about one of these companies.  The story was included in a booklet that was handed out at the awards ceremony.
